Founded in 2002, Lusca was first intended as a basic setup of two bass guitars and a drum machine to set the band’s course and to pick up other musicians along the way. After recording some demo tracks in 2003 Lusca decided to keep the stripped down minimalist approach and continued as a two piece. A three track demo CD released in 2005 developed the style of the band further and gave a first glimpse of where to go: Massive, slow and atmospheric soundscapes somewhere between early 90s British industrial, modern post rock and sludge doom sounds.
2007 saw a one-year break for the band due to family reasons, which was supposed to be covered by the release of the first full length CD. This very well received self titled debut gave Lusca a good starting point from which to set sails for part two of the journey.
2008 sees the release of "Relics", a free download EP on Completely Gone Recordings which contains new versions of two older songs. Lusca reworked another demo song, “My Infinity”, and contributed it to the "Completely Gone Vol. 2" Compilation, also released on Completely Gone Recordings. Furthermore Lusca is eager to play live as often as possible, lately supporting Wolves In The Throne Room in Nuremberg, Germany in February.
